It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Carol Calvin of Traverse City, Michigan, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Joan had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Joan may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Darst and Corrine Darst (Fortune); and her husband Jack L. Calvin. She is survived by: her children, Terry Reay (Patrick), Jeffrey Calvin (Jenny) and Jill Heintz (Peter). She is also survived by her four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church (6105 Center Rd, Traverse City, MI 49686). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
