He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Perry Jones Jr. and Betty Jeanne Jones (Stewart); and his former wife Sandra. He is survived by: his wife Marda Higdon of Summit; his children, Lisa (Mark Franklin) and Scott; his brother Perry (Harriet Jones); his granddaughter Emily; his cousin James Lanham; his mother-in-law June Higdon; and his sister-in-law Donna (Mike Dodson). He is also survived by nieces, nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home (305 Sixth St, Traverse City, MI 49684). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In life and after passing Dan supported Alzheimer's research, including participating in several studies. In lieu of flowers, his family requests a donation to the Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (https://medresearch.umich.edu.) in Dan's name to allow his commitment and impact to continue, or a donation to Hospice of Michigan (https://www.hom.org) to further their service to those in need.
