Debra Kay Schermerhorn Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Debra Kay Schermerhorn of Traverse City, Michigan, who passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Sally Lou Faye Lutke (Brown). She is survived by: her father Joseph Lutke; her husband Jeff Schermerhorn; her children, Amber VanDussen (Titus) and Eric Schermerhorn; her grandchildren, Philemon, Quinton and Jaeleen; and her siblings, Becky Lutke Vincent, Dee Dee Lutke, Karen Lutke, Gregg Lutke (Teresa), Sharon Godell (Matt), Brian Lutke (Jen), Dave Lutke, Jenny Lutke, Amy Farrell (Russell) and Kevin Lutke. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home (309 W Main St, Manton, MI 49663). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
She also donated much of her work to the Grand Traverse Advocacy Center, Women's Resource Center, Children Advocacy Center, Red Cross for hurricane relief, Joy Givers for nursing homes, and the Quilts of Valor for veterans, donating countless blankets for numerous charities and organizations.
