She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Basso and Emma Basso (Cliche); and her siblings, Anthony Louis Basso, Louis Anthony Basso, Dolores Taylor and Jovan "Bonnie" Fort.

She is survived by: her former husband Paul Hathaway; her children, Brian Hathaway (Kristy) of Royal Oak and Kristina Noell (Jeffrey) of Traverse City; her grandsons, Lincoln Noell and Monroe Noell of Traverse City; her foster parents, Clark Phelps and Marie Phelps of Traverse City; her siblings, David Phelps of Traverse City, Katie Phelps of Traverse City, Bridgit Thieme (Kevin) of Grand Rapids and Julie Greene (Brian) of Elk Rapids; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Basso of Traverse City. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
