Clyde Laverne Packer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 12, 2023, at the age of 101, Clyde Laverne Packer of Traverse City, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde L. Packer and Eva Packer Sr. (Pitman); his former wife Esther Ruth Herman; and his siblings, Dale, Oscar, Doris, Willodean, Ardeith, Esther and Eva.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Peterson; his sister Etta; his children, Steven Packer (Linda) of Alden, MI, Cathryn Chilson (Dale) of Sauk Rapids, MN, Cheryl Packer of Moorhead, MN, William Packer (Maureen) of Bear Lake, MI, Paula Gray (Ed) of Brohman, MI and Marlene Overmyer (Kevin) of Jonesboro, IN; his great grandchild Phyllis; and also, Lynne Dodge (Jim) of Jackson, MI, Doug Peterson (Nancy) of Williamsburg, MI, Dale Peterson (Carol) of Byron Center, MI, Suzette Blair (Scott) of Traverse City, MI, Shellie Smith (late Jeff) of Scotland and Connie Rathbun of Rockford, MI. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations will be directed to Global Partners for Dan and Pada Merrillat, missionaries to Thailand.
