He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvo Andreas Lakanen and Mary Lakanen (Lehmus); his in-laws, Gerald and Dolores Burns; and his siblings, Lila Glass and Clifford Stephensen.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra (Burns); his children, Wayne Lakanen (Ryan), Diane Kenner (Tony), Timothy Lakanen (Alicia) and Matthew Lakanen; and his grandchildren, Jasmine, Braden, Aleksanteri, Nicole, Natalee and Felix.
The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
