He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Shega and Johanna Shega (Mikulich); his wife Vicky; and his sisters, Francis Brisson, Antonia Gunderson, Amelia Eliason, Margaret Filkas, Ann Quarfoot and Onota.
He is survived by: his children, Paul of Winston-Salem, NC and Tammy of Chatham; his grandchildren, Jessica Maki (Ryan) of Marquette, MI, Mackenzy Shega-Fox of Royal Oak, MI, Katharine Shega of Savannah, GA and Ben Shega (Ning) of Washington, D. C.; his great grandchildren, Lennon Leigh and Maren Meadow Maki; his sisters, Christine Hawley of Menominee Falls, WI and Josephine Ripperger (Robert) of Kansas City, MO; and his friend Pete Ostanek of Traunik, MI..
