He was predeceased by: his parents, James William and Barbara Janet Oberstar (Knaus); and his mother-in-law Betty Olsen. He is survived by: his wife Becky of Traunik; his sisters, Lori Oberstar, Lynn Aho, Lisa Closner (Pete) and Lucinda Ebbers (Ken); his nieces and nephews, Briana, Hannah Aho, Peter John "Scoob" Closner, Tyler, Jaymee, Spencer and Jared Ebbers; his great-nieces, Cora and Greta Louis; his great-nephew Everett Slapky; his aunt Alice Grant; his parents-in-law, David Olsen (Lorraine), Lisa Eleby (Herman), Lois Ross, Michael Olsen and Patty Nofal (Mike Pryor); his close friend Rob Young; and his pets, Munchie, Stinky, Ninja, George and Scarlet. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
