She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Birnell and Anne Birnell; her daughter Jennifer Jeanne Rice; and her sister Sandra K. Enderle. She is survived by: her pets, Bullet and Brody; her husband Robert Heidbrink, Sr. of Three Rivers; her daughters, Joyce Wyman (Bart) of Marcellus, Michele Schaus of Cassopolis and Patricia Jones (Canaan) of Niles; her stepchildren, Mary Ann Heidbrink of Eureka, Crystal Murray of Hartford City, Indiana, Robert Heidbrink, Jr. (Tracy) of Leland and Joshua Heidbrink (Jamie) of Jefferson City, Missouri; and her siblings, Mary Anne Hicks (Donald) of Frederick, Maryland and Joseph A. Birnell of Oxford, Kansas. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
The family prefers contributions in memory of Valerie be made to an animal shelter of the donor's choice.
