He was predeceased by: his parents, Hermans Kalnmals and Anna Kalnmals (Murnieks); and his wife Ruta (Eglitis). He is survived by: his children, Andrejs (Judy) of Chicago, Davids (Karen) of Chicago and Anita of Chicago; his grandchildren, Christopher, Liena, Julia, Erik and Ryan; his sister Lidija Aistars (Aivars) of Three Rivers; his nieces, Sarmite Alle (Peteris), Dianna Kanne (Bob) and Sandra Saul (Danny); and his nephew Valdis Aistars (Juli).
