He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dykstra and Anna Dykstra (Wyma); his wife Nelva Dykstra (Kraai); and his siblings, Martin, Kathrine, Annetta and Jeanette.
He is survived by: his sons, Terrill (Joan), Dennis (Jeanie), Arlen (Joyce) and David Dykstra (Diane); and his brother Chuck Dykstra (June). He is also survived by grandchildren; and eleven great- grandchildren.
