He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Buckner and Anna Mae Buckner (Sherman); and his sister Anita Joyce Smith. He is survived by: his wife Diane Marie Buckner (Bobzean); his children, Jason Buckner and Morgan Kehoe (Scotty); his grandchildren, Rhys, Connor, Addison and Jordyn; and his brothers, Mark Buckner Jr. (Linda) and Allan Buckner.

Memorials may be made to the Brain Injury Association of America.
