He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Fay and Estie Fay (Bowman); and his siblings, Eloise Fay and Harold Fay. He is survived by: his wife Alvaretta LaVoy; and his daughters, Denise DiPlacido (Arthur), Deborah Knab (Michael), Ginger Scheuerman (Greg) and Vickie Kempf (Paul). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and a nephew.
