He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lester and Elnora Louise Brooks (Walker); his sister Marilyn Louwerens; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Krzyzaniak, Jim Moore, Henry Louwerens and Wilma Moore.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Margaret; his sons, Douglas Kevin Brooks (Kathy) of Manchester and Dale Roger Brooks (Liza) of Clinton; his sisters, Patty Carlton (Tom) of Clinton and Shirley Krzyzaniak of Manchester; his grandchildren, Melissa Duvall (Kevin), Jason Brooks (Amanda), Jakeb Brooks (Hannah), Ethan Brooks (Megan) and Bailee Brooks; and his great grandchildren, Bella, Anna Duvall, Logan, Parker, Deakon, Quinn and Baker Brooks.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
