He is survived by: his spouse Sylvia "Sally" Swanston; his sons, Steven Schafer and Warren Schafer (Dawn); his grandchildren, John Schafer (Ashley), Jason Napier (Erin), Mason Schafer and Emily Schafer; his great grandchildren, Matthew Schafer and Annabelle Schafer; and his siblings, Ralph, Howard Melvin (Joan), Joel (Joyce), Joyce Schultz and Ilene Schroeder (Ed). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
