She was predeceased by: her parents, Melbourne "Buddy" Smith and Ruth Smith (Betz); her husband Richard Gentz; her grandsons, Jason and Adam Gentz; and her brother Richard Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Roger Gentz (Anne) of Mendon, MI, Raymond Gentz (Cindy) of Colon, MI, Royal Gentz (Lorie) of Colon and Susan Vredeveld (John) of Canton, MI; and her brother Gordon B. Smith (Linnea) of Fort Wayne, IN.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
