He was predeceased by: his parents, Elberta Harper (Perkins) and Edward Harper; his significant other Dorothy Jean Nettleman; his siblings, Patricia Deming (John), Harold Harper and Jerry O'Brien; and his stepson Jay Poley.
He is survived by: his sister Carole Gemmill; his sons, Allen (Laura), Kendrick (Caroline) and Bryan Harper (Lisabeth); the mother of his children Sally Harper (Fleshman); his stepchildren, Scott (Jeanie), Robert Poley (Robin) and Pamela Poley; his grandchildren, Drew, Norah, Charlotte and Vivian Harper; and his stepgrandchildren, Reid, Mason, Myles Poley and Cameron Rickman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and the Tecumseh Center for the Arts.
