It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Irene M. Bacalis in Tecumseh, Michigan, born in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on June 14, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Gikas and Panagoula Gikas; her husband Steve Bacalis; and her sisters, Martha Sinas and Stella Gikas.

She is survived by: her daughters, Ann Wank (John) of Tecumseh and Tina Dohm (Justin) of Wheaton, Illinois; her grandchildren, Marianthie of Leah, PJ and Evie; her brother-in-law George Bacalis (Jean); and her nieces and nephews, George Sinas (Sheryl), Pam Harwood, Dan Sinas (Susan), Athena Willets (Scott) and Quest Bacalis (Jennifer). She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private funeral will be held on June 18, 2020 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Toledo, Ohio, Fr. Larry Legakis presiding.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Toledo, Ohio, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan, The Alzheimers Association, or Hospice of Lenawee County.
