He is survived by: his wife Barbara Fay Dittmer; his children, Shelly Eaton, Rachel Basile (John) and Eric Dittmer (Angela); and his sisters, Lorraine Gates, Lois Smythe (Frank), Violet McMurtry (William) and Doris Baldwin.
