With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Russell Lee Turner in Taylor, Michigan, born in Highland Park, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 11, 2024 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Turner and Elizabeth Crooks-Turner; and his siblings, Beverly Jane Turner-Miller, Betty Turner-Alm, Billy Turner and Michael Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Turner-Taft (Frank), Michelle Turner-Basco, Scott Turner and Christopher Turner; his grandchildren, Holly Taft, Harland Taft, Jenna Taft, Joshua Taft, Grace Taft, Troy Church, Crystal Church, Marcus Church, Joan Church-Deanen, Noah Hotham and Amia Turner; and his sister Madeline Turner-Leeson. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local Disabled Veteran's group or Purple Heart charity, to continue the honorable legacy of Russell's service to his country.
