He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Brooks and Eula Brooks (McGraw). He is survived by: his wife Joan Betty Thibaut; his children, Robert J. Brooks, Debra L. Brooks and Cynthia Brooks-Jones (Leon Jones); his granddaughters, Kristina "Krissi" Mason and April M. Ricker; his great grandchildren, Christian Eric Alcorn II, Ava M. Alcorn, Madilynn G. Alcorn, Tyler M. Conley and Jacob A. Mason; and his siblings, Patricia "Patsy" Faust and Tommy Lee Brooks. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
