With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Matthew Bennett of Swartz Creek, Michigan, who passed away on April 6, 2025 at the age of 55. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his stepfather Robert Jackabon. He is survived by: his parents, Richard Robertson Bennett (Deb) and Joan Ruth Jackabon (Hagerty); his wife Katherine Jane Simpson; his son Brady; his stepchildren, Brendan, Allison, Kenneth and Gabriella; his stepgrandchildren, Brendan, Jr. and Aleera; his brother Andrew Bennett; his half-siblings, Zachary Bennett and Audra Brummel; and his nieces, Olive, Fiona and Ainsley Bennett.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sharp Funeral Homes - Miller Road Chapel (8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek, MI 48473). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the family, to be placed into a trust for Matt's son, Brady Matthew Bennett.
