He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Henry and Nellie Mays (Lobdell); his wife Trixie Mays; his son James Mays; and his siblings, Marilyn Smith, Richard Mays and Ronald Mays.
He is survived by: his children, John Mays, Jr. (Maureen), Linda Novenske (Randy) and Patricia Sanford (Ned); his grandchildren, Amy Holloway, Jill Avis, BJ Mays, David Mays (Devin), Christina Mays, Jay Sanford (Lynsay) and Julie Sanford; and his sisters, Barbara Knotts and Jean Green. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson.
