She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Harmon and Edith Eleanor Vredevoogd (Smith); her husband James A. Candy; her daughter Elizabeth Freman; and her sister Barbara Vredevoogd.

She is survived by: her children, James Candy (Kathy) of Grand Blanc, Timothy Candy (Vicki) of Williamston, David Candy of Florida, Mark Candy of West Branch and Shelli Candy of Grand Blanc; and her brothers, James Vredrevoogd (Jeanette) of Florida and William Vredrevoogd (Pam) of Suttons Bay. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
