She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Dwight Hitchcock and Edith Marion Giles; and her siblings, Jennie (Azalia), Patricia (Pat), Manula, Giles and Francis (Jim).
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Carpenter (Laurie), Bryan Carpenter (D'Artagnan), Charlene and Kevin Carpenter (Pamela); her great grandchildren, Kourtney Carpenter, Ashton Carpenter-Smith, Melissa Carpenter, Brandyn Carpenter, Dakota Carpenter, Corban Hunt (Joshua), Keith Carpenter (Lulu), Kelly Carpenter (Mandy) and Amanda Wynot Liucci (Carpenter); her nieces, Esther Sixberry and Brenda Simmons; her nephew Larry Powers; her husband Jack Leroy Carpenter; her son Scout; and her great grandchildren, Peter, Andrew and Evan.
