He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Francis Hoornstra (Heeling) and Robert Hoornstra; his adoptive parents, George Boomer and Alma Boomer; and his siblings, John Hornstra (Carlita), Viola Fox (Woodrow), Sally Garver (Raymond) and Eunice Parker (Clyde).
He is survived by: his wife Jan Hoornstra; and his siblings-in-law, Scott Irwin (Sherry) and Nancy Payne (David). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
