She was predeceased by: her parents, John Stratmann and Hilda Stratmann (Kerperien); her husband Harrison Root; and her daughter Lucy Kovalcik. She is survived by: her daughter Phyllis Kerr (Harold); her son-in-law Frank Kovalcik; her grandsons, James Kovalcik (Julie) and Robert Kovalcik (Natalie); and her sister Anne Marie Stevens.
