He was predeceased by: his parents, Adalbert "Del" Asselin and Helen Asselin (Kosick); his daughter Jacqueline Elaine Asselin; his sister Phyllis Van Eckhoutte; and his nephews, Rod and Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Julia Asselin; his children, Jennifer Loftin (Steven), Jayme Asselin, Jo Ann Asselin, Donovan Asselin (CJ), David Asselin (Briana) and Jessica Siri (David); his grandchildren, Steffanie, Amanda (Nathan), Andrew, Justin, Charlotte, Lizzy, Natalie, Kaitlyn and Tyler; his great grandchild Damian; and his niece Dawn VanNewkirk (Larry). He is also survived by family; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the family.
