It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Jean Schmidt of Swartz Creek, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on August 11, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Wimmer and Sarah Wimmer (McShane); her husband Thomas Schmidt; her son Jason Schmidt; her brother Donald Wimmer; and her son-in-law Christopher Matus.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cathy Matus and Suzie Carter (John); her grandchildren, Chelsea (Kenny), Adam, Caleb, Calli (Austin), Casey and Kimberlee; her great grandchild Axel Thomas; her brothers, Kenn Wimmer and Jerry Wimmer; and her sister-in-law Judy Baker (Randy). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
