Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Carol Freed of Sumner, Michigan, born in Riverdale, Michigan, who passed away at the age of 80, on June 13, 2023. She was predeceased by: her parents, Meril Hamlin and Thelma Hamlin (Woodrow); her husband Jerry; her son Louis Lee Richards, Jr.; her siblings, Doug Hamlin, Jack Hamlin, Doris LaPaugh, Alverta Freed and Marge Hamlin Gould; her brothers-in-law, Paul Gould, Harold LaPaugh, Bruce Mackie and Cecil Richards; and her nieces and nephews, Dawn, Cindy LaPaugh, Tami Bradshaw, Steven LaPaugh, Dan Freed and Dennis Richards.
She is survived by: her children, Larry Richards (Lindsay), Cheri Freed Krajniak (Todd) and Nichole Freed Berridge (Jim); her grandchildren, Maddy, Mason, Braden Berridge, Hannah, Abby, Ben Krajniak, Jesse Dunevant and Kaylee Richards; and her sisters, Leslie Freed, Diane Hamlin, Norva (Philip Taylor), Marcie (Walt Mansfield) and Cindy Mackie (family: Jerrys). She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews both on her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carol's memory may be made to the Gratiot County Fair for Youth, American Red Cross or EAA Chapter 134.
