It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sperry Burton Claypool of Sturgis, Michigan, born in Sylvania, Ohio, who passed away on July 20, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Claypool and Gladys Claypool; and his grandchildren, Angela and Alex Harrison. He is survived by: his wife Gertrude; his daughters, Anne Wohlford (Ron) of Holmes Beach, FL, Patricia (PK) and Marie Lapinski (John) of Northville, MI; his grandchildren, Eric Wohlford (Gisela Marrero), Lisa Rudolph (Devon), Claire, Grace, Jack Lapinski and Ashley Kretzchmar (Matt); and his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel Wohlford, Calvin Rudolph and Daniel Kretzchmar.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sperry's longtime church, First Congregational Church UCC.
