He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur B. Merrill and Reva Merrill (Ritchie). He is survived by: his wife Brenda L. Gomez; his children, Tiffany Neal (Tony) of Sturgis, MI, Jessica Miranda of Toledo, OH, Derrell J. "DJ" Merrill Jr. of Sturgis, MI, Sean Merrill (Ally) of Sturgis, MI and Chris Merrill (Mindy) of Sturgis, MI; his grandchildren, Marcus, Anthony, Kaitlyn, Julius, Jose, Josefina, Jocelyn, Riley, Ellison, Vaughn, Slayde, Bodhe, Charleigh, Beckett, Briggs, Ava, Preslee and Leighton; his great grandchild Alanna; his siblings, Norma Sexton (Tim), Lori Montes (Tony), Lonnie Merrill (Pat) and Chet Merrill (Joni); and his mother-in-law Dora McVey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
