He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert John Schabes and Joan Marie Schabes (Murray); his brother Robert Michael Schabes; his nephew Joey Woods; and his aunts and uncles, Carol McCarroll, Joan Jackson, Willian and John Schabes.

He is survived by: his daughter Jessica Argo (Alex Sackett); his grandchildren, Lexi Smith, Oliver Sackett and Isaiah Sackett; his sister Karen Woods (Roger Frederick); his nieces, Dawn Phelps (Larry), Angela Wilkins (Jeff) and Misty Schabes; and his aunt Barbara Schabes-Mitchell. He is also survived by great-nieces and nephews; and cousins.
