She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Carpenter and Fannie Carpenter (Eicher); and her siblings, Mary Carpenter, Esther Troyer, Joseph Carpenter, Jr., Marcus Carpenter and Robert Neuenschwander.
She is survived by: her husband David J. Bontrager; her children, Donna Monson (Michael) of Sturgis, Carolyn Gautsche (Greg) of Coldwater, Marilyn Borntrager (Marty) of Grove Oak, Alabama, Dennis Bontrager (Rin) of Centreville and Fred Bontrager (Maggie) of Toccoa, Georgia; her siblings, Ann Araujo (Hezir) of Elkhart, Edna Carpenter of Sturgis, Gertie Honig and James Carpenter (Faith) of Sturgis; and her sister-in-law Lois Neuenschwander of Lititz. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Locust Grove Church (29525 Findley Rd, Burr Oak, MI 49030). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
