He was predeceased by: his father James (Bertha Kolb); his siblings, Elwood Kolb, Nina Kolb, Edna Kessler (Ray) and Norma Vaas (Howard); his wife Cela Adams; his grandson Luke Kotecki; and his son-in-law Paul Kotecki (Carol Crandall).
He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda Young (Richard), Karen Kolb, Sheila Kotecki and Terri Rathburn (Matt); his grandchildren, Ben Snay (Joann), Jeremy Snay (Candy), Melissa Ayotte (Jason Preston), Ryan Young (Kara), Matt Young (Andrea) and Lee Rathburn; and his nieces and nephews, Howard Vaas (Stacey), Mark Vaas (Stephanie), Kelly Wilson, James Kessler and Wallace Kessler. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Herbert Funeral Home (706 Kosciusko St, Manistee, MI 49660). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 4:30 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery (309 W Parkdale Rd, Manistee, MI 49660).
