He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Smith and Bessie Smith (Green); his wife Arloa I. Proctor; his grandson-in-law Christopher Davis; and his siblings, Leo Smith, Arthur Jr. "Bud" Smith, Frances Ellsworth, Margaret Pelton and Jocille Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Shepard (Jeff) of Jackson; his granddaughters, Brittany Cordero (Milian) and Alexandra Davis; and his great grandchildren, Enzo, Emory and Milani. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
