He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rimpel and Betty Rimpel (Boyd); and his brothers, John and Mark Rimpel. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Rimpel of Stevensville; his daughter Sarah Rimpel of Bridgman; and his siblings, Susan Rimpel Birnie of Pennsylvania and Ron Rimpel of St. Joseph.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Rd., Stevensville.
