He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Hettig, Jr. and Margaret Mary Hettig (King); and his sister Lee Jacques. He is survived by: his sisters, Robin Halamka and Mary Smith; his brothers-in-law, Paul Jacques and Ken Halamka; his nieces and nephews, Candace, Kelley, Megan, Joseph, Jared, Michael and Jenna; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kathleen, Samantha, Robert and William; and also, Emmalynn, Owen, Wyatt, Henry and Elijah.

Memorials may be made to Lake Michigan Catholic Schools, the Catholic Community Center or Caring Circle Hospice.
