He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Raas and Evelyn Raas (Felgner); and his brother Charles "Charlie" Raas. He is survived by: his sisters, Patsy Black (Herman) and Maxine Anstey (Richard); his nephews, Craig Black (Pam) and Scott Anstey (Melissa); and his niece Sheryl Meiser (Bruce).
