He was predeceased by: his parents, Millicent Ahrens and Adolph Ahrens; his former wife Eva Lee Ahrens (Piarulli); his son-in-law Ronald Scott Claeys; and his brothers, Bret Ahrens and Lew Ahrens.
He is survived by: his wife Eve; his close friend Chain of Love; his daughter Sharon; his son-in-law David Salewske of Cheboygan; his daughter Michelle Claeys of Stevensville, Michigan; his grandchildren, Nathan Claeys of Mishawaka, Nicole, Nathan Jones of Gaylord, Bailee, Will Jansma of DeMotte and Kersten Claeys of Stevensville, Michigan; his great grandchildren, Cash, Sadie Jones and Sullivan Jansma; and his siblings, Judd (Kaye), Rex (Jane), Mark (Pam), Polly Hamilton (Joe), Marcia Ahrens, Christine Cornell (Ron), John (Donna Poole), Steve (Mary Post) and Bob (Ginny Slezak). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces, as well as grand nephews and nieces.
