It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Shirley Jean Hayes of Sterling Heights, Michigan, who passed away at the age of 87, on December 28, 2024. As we bid Shirley Jean farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Shirley Jean is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her sons, Jim (Lisa), John (Sue) and Paul (Theresa); her grandchildren, Nicholas, Charlie (Alex McCafferty), Katie Szalkowski (Andrew) and Rachel (Jacob Cadle); and her siblings, Ginger Reardon (Don) and Sandy Curtis (Tim). She was also cherished by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Lawrence Church (44633 Utica Rd, Utica, MI 48314). A Mass will be held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church (44633 Utica Rd, Utica, MI 48314).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's honor may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
