He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter and Irene; and his great-nephew Noah Thomas Shaffer. He is survived by: his siblings, David (Meg Coughlin) and Nancy Eliasz (Jeffrey); his nieces and nephews, Walter Nowinski (Anne VanderMey), Heather Holdsworth (Joshua), Ashley Shaffer (Justin), Jeffrey Eliasz (Megan Cranston) and Anna Nowinski; his great-nieces, Olivia Holdsworth, Charlotte Shaffer and Eleanor Shaffer; and his great-nephew Elijah Holdsworth.
