He was predeceased by: his sister Judy Ference. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughter Carrie Pioch (Patrick); his granddaughter Margot Pioch; his siblings, John Richard Zavar (Mary Ann), Jean Quinlan and Albert Zavar (Marsha); and his brother-in-law Donald Ference.
