He was predeceased by: his wife Linda; his son Christopher Helwig; and his sibling Katerina Maruszewski (late Tom). He is survived by: his children, Lisa Marie Nett, Allison Komjathy (Joseph) and Jennifer Jatel (Jarek); his grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Cayla, Madisen, Emma and Nathan; and his sibling Giovanena Jonske (late John).
