He was predeceased by: his mother Hazel Thon (Welch); his wife Mary Philips; his son Larry Thon; and his siblings, Richard Thon, Marjorie Stout and Myra Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Thon (Christie Decosta) of Morley, Tom Thon (Kim) of Stanwood and Susan Stafford (Wayne) of Stanwood; and his sister-in-law Lenore Thon of Stanwood. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Simon's name to Spectrum Health Hospice.
