He was predeceased by: his son Gerald Clare Staffen; his sister Janice Lucas; his sister-in-law Jean Staffen; his brother Chuck; and his sister-in-law Barb Lawrence.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Young; his children, Mick (Marianne) of Howard City, Tim (Carla) of Big Rapids and Carri Aldrich (Jerry) of Big Rapids; his grandchildren, Amber, Andrea, Charlie, Emily (Gage), Sara (Nate) and Nick; his siblings, Nyle Staffen of Sparta and Linda Huson of Lansing; and his siblings-in-law, Bill Lucas of Cadillac and Patricia Boker (Rodney) of Howard City. He is also survived by his nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or a charity of choice in lieu of flowers.
