She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Hooker and June Hooker (Hunt); and her siblings, Patricia Parm, Richard, David, Johnny and Paul Hooker.
She is survived by: her son Gerry D. Root Jr.; her granddaughters, Toni, Sherry and Patricia; her husband Gerry Dean Root; her daughters, Toni Root, Sherry (Mike Towers) and Patricia (Rodney Rives); her grandchildren, Tina Hansen, Michelle Roy, Kent Towers, Tracie DeWitt, Travis DeWitt, Task DeWitt and Kayla Rives; and her sisters, Jacqueline Snyder, Joanne King and Barbara Vertz. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
