He is survived by: his wife Ona Shaffer (Murringer); his children, Brandy, Jeremy and Margie; his grandchildren, Dale Schmidt (Emily Lee), Anna Schmidt (Hampton Steelman), Vivian Shaffer-Hill (Brandon) and Haley Shaffer (Joe Ayotte); his siblings, Ervin Shaffer (Caroline), Brinda Devault (Robert), Joann Gingerich and Roxanna Horrie (Mike); his siblings-in-law, June Greve, Gloria Foust, Maryann Moore, Glen Haas, Daniel Gingerich, Ferd Greve, James Wheeler, Christine Shaffer, Connie Devault and Susan Russell; his nephew Nicholas Shaffer; and his niece Mabel Payne. He is also survived by Many nieces, nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.
