He was predeceased by: his sisters, Judith Clare and Suzanne Mary. He is survived by: his wife Kristyn (Dougherty); his sons, Benjamin John (Heather Hoffman), Eric Michael (Angela Harris) and Zachary Allan (Sarah); his grandchildren, Madalyn Rose, Ava Grace, Kaleb Lee, Kinsley Grace and Joshua Alan; and his brother John Joseph Schlicht (Shirley).
