He was predeceased by: his parents, Omar LaClair and Jane LaClair (Henderson); his former wife Sandra LaClair; his brothers, Donald LaClair and Keith LaClair; and his pets, Tigger and Nikki.

He is survived by: his wife Roxanne Malow; his children, James Jr., Ann Marie LaClair, Tracy and David Oliver; his grandchildren, Christiana, Bradley, Matthew, Ashley, Shane, MacKenzie, Adam, Steven, Garrett, Bryon and Jessica; his great grandchildren, Cameron, Hunter, Michael, Brianna, McKenna, Luna and Nikolas; and his sister-in-law Margaret LaClair.
